Since 1986, the members of Lilium have worked in
the area of receiving minors who are at risk of
delinquent behaviour and / or drug dependency, planning
and implementing education programs, with the aim
of redressing the socio-cultural disadvantage, and
therapeutic programs, with the aim of rehabilitation
to a socio-psychological norm. Clients come from
all over Italy and from foreign countries, and are
placed in the care of our institution, usually by
the Juvenile Courts of the various regions in Italy,
the local Social Services, and / or the Neuropsychiatry
Service of the area (ASL) and / or the Minister
of Justice.
Furthermore, since 1993, work has been undertaken
with adult drug addicts and, subsequently, with
clients with multiple problems.
In 1990 the members of Lilium planned and implemented
the "Koinè" community, which was
formed as a socio-educational community, and evolved
over time to be a rehabilitative/therapeutic community,
both from the point of view of the professional
figures who are used, and from the point of view
of the clients. The Koinè community, with
respect to the problems of the clients, is an institution
for socio-educational projects as well as rehabilitative/therapeutic
programs. It is now aimed at welcoming male minors,
who are at risk of delinquency as a result of family,
psychological, material and socio-cultural difficulties;
those with psychiatric problems; those facing criminal
trials.
In 1998, the members of Lilium planned and implemented
the rehabilitative/therapeutic community "Nostos",
which aims at welcoming minors of both genders,
affected by psychological disorders of different
kinds (psychotic disturbances, personality disorders,
mental development problems, growth problems etc)
and who, for various reasons, cannot obtain sufficient
help from family or, for whom, there is a temporary
separation from their nuclear family.
